towards a standard social network linking protocol offering interoperability
I have avoided social networking web sites for several years as a waste of energy, but recently I decided to join one -- my brother invited me into it -- and I have been inviting others to join LinkedIn.com too.
I suppose when I get around to launching another project, I might use linked-in to draw some attention to it.
It would be a good thing in my opinion to standardize an interface between the various social networking web sites -- blogs would work too, as livejournal features links to friends' sections -- to cut down on the current massive redundancy required of people who have lots of friends in different friend network clubs.
it seems like a good next step for the YADIS / openID people, in fact.
